Get to know Becca a little more
At Refined Marketing, teamwork is absolutely essential for us to help boost your brand and make your content shine. We believe the basis of this is trust, and actually learning about who we’re all collaborating with – from the perhaps trivial everyday studio dilemmas to how we work under pressure.
We sat down with Becca to find out the answers to some of the more trivial – but still important – questions we had.
1. The Great British dilemma: tea or coffee?
It definitely runs in the family, but I’m a tea drinker through and through!
Unfortunately I can’t really drink caffeinated coffee, so maybe my answer would be different if I could. However, I think I’ve just about managed to convince myself that on the odd occasion where I do have a decaf coffee, it still wakes me up like a caffeinated one would – delusion? Probably!
In my household there is a real affinity for mug collecting, so we’ve had to bring in a ‘one in, one out’ rule.
2. Aside from mugs, do you collect anything else?
Yes! I make a real effort to get a magnet from any place I travel to – the more colourful the better. Some of my favourites include the bright hues of Nyhavn from when I visited Copenhagen, and the absolutely iconic Temple Bar from when I took a trip to Dublin.
I’m also a huge reader and studied English Language and Literature at university, so probably have a few too many books on my bookshelf – but is there really such a thing?
3. Are you interested in any sports?
We’re a huge football family and always have been – firmly on the red half of Merseyside. I’d love to go to more games in person, but tickets can be like gold dust!
I’m also now a big motorsport fan, in particular Formula 1 and F1 Academy. My friends at university loved it, so it was either get on board or be the only one in the house not watching it.
4. You love books, so do you have a favourite novel or poem?
For a long time now, my favourite poem has been Maya Angelou’s ‘Still I Rise’.
As for novels, I really enjoy reading across many different genres, from classical literature and contemporary fiction to Old Norse sagas. I studied Old Norse for the first time in my first year at university and fell in love with the myths, language and style of writing.
Not strictly a novel or poem, but I also found a love of name studies while at university, and actually completed my final-year dissertation on occupational by-names and surnames across Lancashire.
5. What is your favourite type of cuisine?
I think I’d always say Italian for this one. I’m part Italian so I attribute the of all things pizza and pasta to that. However, I also love Indian food, and actually worked at a local Indian restaurant when I was a teenager, getting to try more dishes.
Five questions later, and we’ve definitely learned more about Becca! While these questions aren’t serious, we can certainly sense Becca’s personality shining through in the answers.
We’re excited for everything Becca will help us to achieve at Refined Marketing!
